The Austrian Institute for International Affairs (“oiip”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the PARTESS-COM website, platform and mobile application designed to improve safety around places of worship, schools, and religious communities by providing open resources and (for vetted users) collaboration tools and an incident-reporting function. The OIIP is therefore the data controller for the processing of personal data associated with these functions.

PARTESS-COM follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Privacy Policy Online Reporting Form in Faith Guardian Platform/Application

Purpose of the Reporting Form: 

This online reporting form allows individuals to report suspected or observed criminal activities directed against religious institutions. Reports may include information about incidents, affected institutions, and—where relevant—the names of suspected persons involved in such activities.

Types of Personal Data Processed:

When submitting a report, the following categories of personal data may be processed:

  • Information about the reporting person (e.g. IP-Adress)

  • Details of the reported incident (e.g. date, location, details of the incidents, but without any information about the suspects )

The provision of data is voluntary.

Legal Basis for Processing:

Following the completion of the research project, the reporting platform is operated by the consortium. In this operational phase, the processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Use and Disclosure of Data:

The information submitted via this form will be used solely for the purpose of reviewing and assessing reported criminal activities. Where necessary and legally permitted, the data may be shared with competent authorities, such as law enforcement agencies, for further investigation.

Personal data will not be used for commercial purposes or disclosed to unauthorized third parties.

Accuracy and Responsibility:

Reporting persons are requested to provide information to the best of their knowledge and belief. Reports should be factual and objective. Submitting false or intentionally misleading information may have legal consequences.

Data Security:

Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
